For over three decades, Yesterday's Bar & Grill has been a cherished part of Pekin, Illinois, known for its family-friendly atmosphere and classic American fare. Founded in 1994 by Jetta Christensen, this establishment quickly became a community staple. As highlighted by Pekin Voice, it has always been a place where families gather and create lasting memories.

In 2006, Jim and Joy Schramm, purchased the establishment, ensuring its continued presence in Pekin. During that time, JoElle (their daughter) studied and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu culinary institute in Chicago and honed her skills working in various high-quality restaurants and hotels until the world shut down due to Covid.

In 2021, JoElle Schramm purchased the business from her parents and embarked on a rebranding journey “YBG”, breathing new life into this Pekin staple. While staying true to its core values of quality and community, JoElle dreamed of turning the place into her own.

In 2024, JoElle's personal journey intertwined with the restaurant's evolution. She married Ryan Master, blending their lives and passions. This personal milestone has further fueled JoElle's vision for Yesterday's.

Today, Yesterday's Bar & Grill is embracing a new chapter, focusing on a refined culinary journey and handcrafted cocktails, JoElle’s vision is to offer a true dining experience where bright TV screens and noisy gambling machines don't compete with good food, drinks, and conversation.
